Food And Drug Administration Issues Warning To Public Against Consuming 5 Unregistered Products
FDA – The Food and Drug Administration recently released a public health warning against buying and consuming five unregistered food products.
This is because the 5 products did not went through proper registration and authorization from the agency and believes that they may pose potential health hazard to the public.
The Advisory No. 2019-010 dated January 10, 2019 from the FDA identified the following five unregistered food products:
- Bonito Soup Stock;
- Meito Vitamin C Nodoame Mix Fruits (Herb Candy), 1000mg;
- Daiso Select Carbonara Sauce;
- Hammer On Pretzel Garlic Butter Taste; and
- Daiso Select Sukiyaki Sauce

According to UNTV News, the five products were verified to have not been issued with Certificate of Product Registration, based on the agency’s post-marketing surveillance (PMS) activities.
“Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9711, otherwise known as the “Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009”, the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, offering for sale, distribution, transfer, non-consumer use, promotion, advertising or sponsorship of health products without the proper authorization from FDA is prohibited,”

The agency further said that it cannot guarantee the quality and safety of the said food products as they have not gone through evaluation and testing. It told the public to not purchase the aforementioned violative products.

“All Local Government Units (LGUs) and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) are requested to ensure that these products are not sold or made available in their localities or areas of jurisdiction,”
As per the report, the agency further urged the public to be vigilant against food products that might not be duly registered with FDA. Failure to secure product authorization has its corresponding penalty and sanction.
