The Philippines is set to host the Mister World contest on June 10, 2019
Mister World contest will be held in the Philippines on June 10, 2019,
Miss World Philippines and Mister World Philippines contests national director Arnold Vegafria confirmed.
During the send-off party for Miss World Philippines Multinational Kimi Mugford held at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City, Vegafria announced this news.
Initially, the said pageant was scheduled to be held in the country in January 2019. However, it was moved to March 2019 and the final announced date is June 10.
“The national directors needed a break because of the series of pageants that happened the past year. And they want a very qualified candidate of each country that’s why they requested if they can do it in June. Now it will be June 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena,” Vegafria said.
Since Mister World was launched back in 1996, no Filipino contestant won yet.
So far, Filipino-British Rugby player-actor Andrew Wolff has the highest placement in the pageant originated from London.
Wolff finished the contest as first runner-up.
This year, 25-year old actor JB Saliba from Olongapo is set to represent the Philippines in Mister World contest.
Based on his Instagram profile, Saliba studied at the University of the Philippines.
He also shared that he is part of Amazing Race Philippines.
Aside from Mister World, Philippines is also set to host Miss Intercontinental this January 26 and Mister International in February, based on Manila Bulletin’s report.
