Netflix warns the public not to do the Bird Box Challenge

Following the success of Netflix original Bird Box, the #BirdBoxChallenge went viral on different social media platforms.

The said post-apocalyptic psychological thriller garnered a positive feedback from the viewers.

Prominent Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock gave life to the character of Malorie in the movie who was leading a boy and a girl to a safe place.

In order for them to survive, they had to wear blindfolds that protected them from seeing mysterious forces that cause people to commit suicide.

Based on the report from E News, some people took that as a “double dare” and for others it was “challenge accepted”.

After this, videos and photos of people doing the Bird Box Challenge surfaced on social media.

According to the report, those who did the #BirdBoxChallenge did their normal daily routine blindfolded.

However, there were those who took it too far. It is because some of them ended up hurting themselves or their children.

In line with this, Netflix released a warning to the public.

Here’s Netflix’s statement, based on the report.

“Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE,” the company tweeted on Wednesday. “We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.”
