Microsoft Finally Returns As Top Of The Technology World, Closing The Gap Between Apple
MICROSOFT – Chief executive Satya Nadella confirmed that Microsoft is now back at the top of the technology world, following a comeback to beat Apple.
The corporation became the most valuable company in the world when it closed Friday at a higher value than Apple ever since 2010 after a short move ahead. Microsoft’s capitalization was $851.2 billion, which triple in value ever since Nadella bacame chief executive in 2014.
Apple’s capitalization, on the other hand, is now $847.4 billion, having dropped at 20% since the last 8 weeks, followed up by Amazon, with its valuation of $826 billion and Alphabet, Google’s parent, which is values at $763 billion.
An article in ABS-CBN states that Microsoft became top tech firm and most valuable company way back in the 1990s since it powered the revolution in personal computers with its famous operating system (OS) Windows. It, however, was on the verge of obscurity, followed up by failures in mobile computing in the past recent years, in which Apple, Google, and Amazon took the spotlight.
Jack Gold, a tech analyst, said that the corporation is firing on all cylinders right now. Gold further added that Nadella has been doing a fantastic job in leading them away from dead-end areas and being more innovative.
As per the report, Microsoft’s transformation came when it gave up its mobile phone business with Nokia since it failed to gain dominance against Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android smartphones.
Roger Kay, a consultant and analyst at Endpoint Technologies Associates, said that Nadella exercised extraordinarily good judgment, noting that he (Nadella) ceded the consumer business to Apple and focused on the corporate sector and the cloud.
Apple, on the other hand, has largely required its own devices for its services, a strategy which Gold called “troubling”, noting that it’s the same reason Microsoft went down a decade ago. Gold further said that Apple need to change that strategy.
