Here is the latest update on Tropical Depression “Samuel” and list of areas under TCWS No.1
November 19, 2018 – PAG-ASA releases latest update on tropical depression “Samuel” and list of areas under TCWS No.1.
Based on the Severe Weather Bulletin #4 posted on the official Facebook Page of DOST – PAG-ASA, “Samuel” has maintained its strength while moving Northwestward.
The Tropical Depression may intensify into a Tropical Storm prior to landfall.
Moderate to heavy rains may result to flooding and landslides in following areas:
– Caraga Region
– Eastern Visayas
– Davao Oriental
– Compostela Valley
– Bukidnon
– Misamis Oriental
– Camiguin
– Bohol
– Cebu
Those who are living in aforementioned provinces, especially those who have houses near river channels, low-lying and mountainous areas. are advised to take precautionary measures.
They must also coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.
Furthermore, PAG-ASA advised fisherfolks and those sailing in seas with small seacrafts not to “venture out over the areas under TCWS No. 1 and the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao.”
At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “SAMUEL” at 605 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (07.8 °N, 131.8 °E). Its strength has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 65 km/h.
The movement forecast for this tropical depression is Northwest at 15 km/h.
