STAN LEE – In this article, we will have a series of list of Marvel Characters created by Marvel co-founder Stan Lee (I-J).

As a tribute we will have a list of characters that he created or contributed to. This is a continuation of the list and it will summarize the characters from I-J.

Without further ado, here are the following Marvel characters (I-J):

I

  • Iceman – first appeared in The X-Men #1. His alter-ego is Bobby Drake. Iceman has the ability to manipulate ice and cold by freezing water vapor around him.
  • Idunn –  first appeared in Journey into Mystery #114. Idunn is the Asgardian goddess of immortality. She appears as a supporting character of Thor.
  • Immortus – first appeared in Avengers #10. Immortus has no superhuman powers, but he possesses a genius intellect, and has advanced and extensive knowledge of travel through and manipulation of time. It is known that he was tutored by the Time-Keepers.
  • Impossible Man – first appeared in Fantastic Four #11. Impossible Man is a Poppupian, an alien from the planet Poppup and has shapeshifting abilities.
  • Inhumans – a superhuman group first appeared in Fantastic Four #45. 
  • Invisible Woman/Girl – first appeared in The Fantastic Four #1. Her alter-ego is Susan Storm, brother to Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and wife to Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic.Susan is one of the members of the Fantastic Four. She has the ability to become invisible, and project force fields.
  • Iron Man – First appeared in Tales of Suspense #39. His alter-ego is Tony Stark, awealthy American business magnate, playboy, and ingenious scientist, who suffered a severe chest injury during a kidnapping. When his captors attempt to force him to build a weapon of mass destruction, he instead creates a powered suit of armor to save his life and escape captivity.

J

  • Jack Frost – first appeared in U.S.A. Comics #1. He resembles a young man made of ice, and can create and withstand extremely cold temperatures and generate large amounts of ice. During World War II, he joined with other superheroes to form the team Liberty Legion and protect the United States from Axis home-front infiltration.
  • Jack Murdock – first appeared in  Daredevil #1. He is the father of Matt Murdock/Daredevil.
  • Jackal – first appearred in The Amazing Spider-Man #31 . There are two Jackals, with Miles Warren as the well-known one, and Ben Reilly, who then returned his role as the Scarlet Spider. Miles’ Jackal is a genius in the fields of biochemistry, genetics and cloning, and is a talented gymnast and martial artist. He later spliced his genes with the genetics of a jackal, having the strength, speed and agility amplified to superhuman levels.
  • J. Jonah Jameson – first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 . Jameson is the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle who has hatred against Spiderman.
  • John Jameson – first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #1. He is the son of J. Jonah Jameson and was introduced as a prominent astronaut.
  • Edwin Jarvis – first appeared in Tales of Suspense #59. He is the loyal household butler of the Stark family.
  • Abner Jenkins – first appeared in Strange Tales #123. He goes by the names Beetle, MACH-1, MACH-2, MACH-3, MACH-IV, MACH-V, MACH-VII and MACH-X. Jenkins was a master mechanic at an aircraft parts factory who became dissatisfied with his boring, low paying job. Using his considerable mechanical knowledge, Jenkins built an armor-plated, strength-augmenting suit, a pair of gravity-defying wings, suction-fingered gloves, and a cybernetic control helmet.
  • Jester – first appeared in Daredevil #42. Three people took the role of Jester: Jonathan Powers, Jody Putt, and a Crazy Gang Jester.
  • Gabe Jones – first appeared in Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos #1. Gabe is an original member of the elite Howling Commandos combat squad of World War II.
  • Rick Jones – first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #1.  Rick is the sidekick to many superheroes, including the Hulk. He first became A-Bomb, then the Whisperer.
  • Erik Josten – first appeared in The Avengers #21 . Josten is also known as Power Man, Smuggler, Goliath and Atlas.
  • Juggernaut – first appeared in The X-Men #12. His alter ego is Cain Marko and one of the members of the Brotherhood of Mutants. Cain is empowered with magical energies and transformed into an immortal avatar via the crystal gem of Cyttorak.
  • Junior Juniper – first appeared in Sgt. Fury and the Howling Commandos vol. 1 #1. Juniper is a founding member of the original Howling Commandos and fought alongside the team during World War II.
