Smuggled Rice Found And Confiscated In Basilan Province

Philippine Coast Guard Seized Sacks Of Smuggled Rice In Basilan Province

SMUGGLED RICE- Several sacks of smuggled rice have been recently confiscated by the Philippine Coast Guard in Basilan Saturday night.

Previously, a pile of garbage was sent from South Korea to the Philippines. The Verde Soko supposedly sent plastic synthetic flakes in order to make pellets and use them as alternative fuel. However, the shipment has been mislabeled and contained a huge pile of garbage instead. The company has another shipment to be delivered to the Philippines but it was put on hold by the BOC until they will send an entry declaration and an environmental permit from the DENR.

The DENR has yet to explain why such shipment entered into the country even though it was misdeclared and doesn’t have an import entry.

Recently, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) confiscated several sacks of smuggled rice in the province island of Basilan.
