Titanic II is ready to sail in 2022

Titanic, tagged as the “unsinkable ship” which was launched back in 1912 will have it s counterpart in this era, the Titanic II.

Idea to relive this luxurious ship first started in 2012. Australian businessman and politician Clive Palmer, who is one of the people behind this project, confirmed last September that the ship had recommenced.

Based on the article published in CNN due to the dispute with the Chinese government, the development was halted in 2015.

Reportedly, the Titanic II will be an identical copy of the first Titanic.

On the other hand, the modern ship will add features for the safety of the passengers.

It will have plenty of lifeboats that are welded, not riveted hull. Aside from that, it will have modern navigation and radar equipment.

According to Palmer, the Titanic II  will follow the original journey, from Southampton to New York. However, it will also circumnavigate the globe.

On its maiden journey, the ship is set to sail from Dubai to New York and reportedly this will take place in 2022.

The Titanic or known as RMS Titanic sank in the early hours of April 15, 1912 after it collided with an iceberg.

An estimated of 2, 224 passengers and crew were on that maiden journey from Southampton to New York. It is one of the deadliest commercial peacetime maritime disasters in modern history as more than 1, 500 died.

The movie based on this story was a big hit in Hollywood which featured the tandem of Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet. It is one of the top-earning films in the history of Hollywood.
