Jake Zyrus’ mother, Raquel Pempengco, appealed to him to visit his grandmother Thess Pineda in the ICU
Raquel Pempengco, the mother of Jake Zyrus called out to him to visit his ailing grandmother in hospital.
It can be recalled that Jake, formerly known as Charice, had a conflict with his mother. It all started on the ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ (MMK) episode featuring the life of the singer who is now a transman.
His coming out of the closet is one of the controversial topics in show business last year. Many were surprised and shocked that from the biritera Charice, he is now balladeer Jake.
Raquel said that the episode had a negative depiction of her as a mother unlike her initial expectation. Jake’s brother called him a liar because of that.
The fact that Raquel is not in favor of the new image of her child contributed to the rift between them.
Despite of this, the mother of Jake Zyrus still appealed to him to visit his lola who is now in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a hospital.
Lola Thess Pineda had expressed support for the career and life decision of her grandchild.
Jake’s mother also knows that the elderly woman is very close to the singer. Now that Lola Thess is having a hard time in the hospital because of her medical condition, Raquel is hoping that Jake will visit her.
Based on the article published in PEP, she called out to the singer through a Facebook post.
“Please pray for her… She’s in the ICU right now… (napatiran ng ugat sa ulo) masama man akong anak sa tingin nya wala akong magagawa Nanay ko pa rin xa… Sana magparamdam ang paborito nyang apo, ngayon xa kylangan nito…”
