Imee Marcos on “naudlot” National Artist Award for Dolphy and Nora Aunor: “Nakakabuwisit!”
Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos reacted to “naudlot” National Artist Awards for Comedy King Dolphy and Superstar Nora Aunor.
The politician expressed her dismay over the fact that until now, the two artists haven’t received their recognition.
Undeniably, Dolphy and Nora had contributed a lot in the Philippine entertainment industry and their legacy continues to linger.
This is also the views of Imee regarding this matter.
Based on the article published in Pang-Masa, the Governer said this: “Nabubuwisit ako at nabubuwisit lalo ako na hindi pa rin (nagiging National Artist) si Dolphy. Parang long overdue. Nakakapikon na.”
She is also questioning what are the factors hindering the award-giving body to give the recognition to the two remarkable pillars of the showbiz industry in the country.
“I mean to say, anon’g dahilan? What’s the problem? Hindi ko magets. I think it’s really overdue,” Imee also said.
The Governer wants to work out the awards for Nora Aunor and Dolphy, however, she stated that it seems there is a “palakasan” system in giving the National Artist Award.
Dolphy is very much deserving as a recipient of the award, Imee pointed out. However, until now it was not given to him.
No one can refute the joy and laughter that the Comedy King has given to his audience.
Based on the article, though Imee Marcos is in the world of politics, she is close to many showbiz personalities. The world of show business is also near to her heart even during the time of her father’s presidency.
Aside from that, she is also close to some veteran showbiz writers.
What can you say about this? Are you also in favor that Dolphy and Nora Aunor should be given National Artist Award?
