This is what Gelli de Belen discovered about his sons who are now studying abroad
Actress and celebrity mom Gelli de Belen revealed what she discovered about her two sons who are studying in Canada.
She said that her sons with singer-actor Ariel Rivers, Joaqui and Julio, are far different now than what they were before. Since that the Rivera brothers are spending most of their time abroad, they just seldom see their parents.
Joaqui, the eldest, is taking up aviation while Julio is a Kinesiology student. Based on the article published in PEP, Gelli visits her sons in Canada three times a year while the boys go back here in the Philippines every summer vacation.
As Gelli and Ariel are very hands-on parents to their children, the actress admits that she tends to spoil her two boys.
On the other hand, since that they are grown ups now, the celebrity couple let them study abroad.
In line with their stay in Canada, Gelli de Belen said that she discovered something about her two sons.
According to the actress, Joaqui and Julio are more independent now. This is unlike what they were before under her care.
For Gelli, it is indeed a positive effect for his sons. The two young-adults are now more independent and responsible.

“You know what, kung meron man akong pinagpapasalamat, ang laki ng pinagbago nilang dalawa simula nang tumira sila dun. Siyempre, hindi mo naman masisisi dahil nandiyan ako, may pagka-spoiled. Pero ngayon, independent na sila, may pagka-responsible. Lalo na yung panganay,” the actress shared.
When it comes to having relationship, the celebrity mom does not totally hinders her sons to have girlfriends. On the other hand, she advises them to focus first on their studies.
Gelli de Belen also shared the advice of Ariel to their sons, based on the article.
“Sabi nga ng Tatay nila, ‘Alam niyo boys, yung girls, palaging nandiyan. Focus on whatever you need to focus and finish it. The girls will always be there and if you have something to stand for, meaning nakapagtapos ka ng pag-aaral, mas maraming girls.'”
