Foreign National Passes Away After PH-Manufactured Vape Pen Blasts
A foreign national died after his Philippine-made vape pen suddenly malfunctioned, which caused a projectile wound to the head leading to his untimely death.
Tallmadge D’Elia, a man from St. Petersburg, Florida passed away after using his vape pen that suddenly malfunctioned and launched a projectile of two pieces into his cranium.
D’Elia’s official cause of death was the projectile wound on his head due to the blast of the vape pen that also caused a fire in his bedroom.
St. Petersburg Fire Rescue firefighters said that about 80 percent of the victim’s body suffered from thermal injuries.
The autopsy report shows that there was only a very little smoke although the officials are claiming that they have found an extensive fire on the victim’s bedroom.
According to the reports, Smok-E Mountain Mactan was allegedly the manufacturer of the “mod” type vape pen used by D’Elia.
Smok-E Mountain Mactan social media page shows that the vape shop is located in Mactan Marina Mall in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
The company’s Facebook page was not yet giving any statement regarding the death of the Florida man.
