Which Is Better: iPhone X vs. Huawei P20 Pro

Comparison Review between iPhone X vs. Huawei P20 Pro

HUAWEI P20 PRO- Apple’s iPhone X is presently the highest profile version of smartphones with notches on the top as the company started the trend in November 2017. This has then become the standard by which other subsequently released notched phones are being judged.

Recently, Huawei introduced its latest rendition of smartphone in the global market, the P20 Pro which caused an intense stir in the technology world.

Since its release, it has suffered comparisons with iPhone X given their noticeable similar features such as rounded corners, glass finish and the vertical positioning of the rear cameras.

However, despite the aesthetic similarities, a featured article from ABS-CBN News exposed the distinction between the two technology giants based on internals and real-life use.

FEATURES AND DESIGN

As stated in the report, the Huawei P20 Pro is moderately heavier than iPhone X by 6 grams. The smartphones weigh 180 grams and 174 grams respectively whereas the Huawei P20 weighs 165 grams due to its slightly smaller screen.

A chin bezel located at the bottommost part of the Huawei P20 Pro slightly moderates its full-screen appearance to allow fingerprint sensor, while iPhone X shows an immersive “nearly borderless” screen following the removal of Touch ID. iPhone X’s security is controlled by Face ID which is also available to Huawei P20 Pro.

For the aesthetics, iPhone X is available in only silver and grey compared to Huawei P20 Pro that offers a broad spectrum of colors. The twilight gradient hue adds a celestial pearlescent accent which makes it a popular choice among buyers. According to Huawei, the breathtaking colors were inspired by the northern lights.

Both phones are rated IP67 for water and dust resistance and has ditched headphone jacks.

CAMERAS

Apple devices including iPhone X is one of the best phone cameras on the global market presently. Its rear camera has dual lenses, both with 12 megapixels and optical stabilization which gives off an excellent dynamic range and can zoom up to 2 times.

Surprisingly, P20 Pro tops iPhone X’s dual camera signature with a vertical array of no less than three rear cameras co-engineered with Leica. It has a 40-megapixel RGB sensor alongside with 20-megapixel monochrome and 8-megapixel telephoto lens.

PERFORMANCE

In terms of speed and sensitivity, there’s a very fine border that separates the two smartphones, both powered by the latest processors and running the newest versions of Android and iOS.

Apple’s A11 Bionic chip allows 3D face scanning used for Face ID and the use of the now trendy app ‘Animoji’, short for animated emojis which is only limited to iPhone users.

The Huawei P20 Pro, on the other hand, is powered by Kirin 970 which allows automatic camera adjustment feature and can allocate power reliant on the owner’s usage.

It was also specified in the report that the latest Huawei phone has a longer battery life compared to iPhone X which can purportedly last up to 2 days. However, the P20 Pro is not supported by wireless charging unlike the three latest Apple phones iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 plus.
