The Hulk Star Mark Ruffalo Lauds Pinoy-Made ‘Tsinelas’ Action Figure

The Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo went to the image-sharing site, Instagram wherein he lauded a Pinoy toymaker who use recycled “tsinelas” or rubber slippers in making action figures.

“Believe it or not, this #Hulk doll is made out of recycled tsinelas (that’s Tagalog for flip-flops),” said the 49-year-old actor who plays The Hulk in the Avengers franchise.

“Not only is this inventively creative, but it’s sustainable and just pure awesome!” he said lauding Elmer Padilla, a Cavite-based toymaker who repurposes used flip-flops into action figures.

Mark Ruffalo has been known as a self-proclaimed environmentalist. He’s also the co-founder of Solutions Project, an organization which aims to aid the world transition to “100% clean energy.”

Meanwhile, on his Instagram page, Padilla posted a photo of himself while crafting action figures including Thor, one of The Hulk’s fellow Avenger.

According to ABS-CBN News, Padilla does not only make toys modeled after superheroes, he also crafts action figures from comics and popular movies.
