Antonio Lingan Malenab, a former town engineer of Solana, Cagayan was caught on camera being killed by unidentified gunmen.
The 53-year-old former municipal engineer in Tuguegarao City, died on the spot after the assault.
The victim was driving along the provincial road in Barangay Annafunan East in Tuguegarao City at around 5:30 on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, when the suspects fired at him.
Based on the report published by Rappler.com, the driver was wearing blue long sleeves and dark-colored shorts while the backrider gunmen was wearing dark jacket and blue shorts.
The incident was captured on cam- with a video sent to the local newspaper, The Northern Forum. However, the source which relayed the footage refused to reveal identity for security reasons.
According to the source, one of the suspects seemed to be “kid.”
In the first few seconds of the clip, the backrider can be seen trying to fire the gun, however, he was not able to fire it, prompting the driver to come down the vehicle and fire at the victim who sustained 7 gunshots.
Before they fled the crime scene, the backrider used another gun and fired at the victim at least four (4) times.
Authorities were able to retrieve over 20 bullet shells from the crime scene.
