Take a look on Laura Lehmann before she joined Miss World Philippines 2017
One of the crowd favorites, Candidate #15 Laura Lehmann brought home the Miss World Philippines 2017 crown.
The 24-year old beauty queen also bagged other special awards such as the Miss Cosmo Skin and Ms. BYS Philippines.
She was also named as the Multimedia winner and she was asked about the importance of social media after being announced as one of the Top 15 candidates.
In a report of GMA Entertainment, during the most-awaited MWP 2017 Q & A portion, Laura was asked to respond on beauty pageants non-believers.
The newly crowned beauty queen said:
“To anyone who don’t believe in pageants, I would ask them to take a look at the girls tonight because we have lawyers, architects, women of substance who are here not only because of what they look like but because of what’s in their hearts, what’s in their mind, and because what they’ve brought forth beauty with a purpose. They’re helping represent the Philippines and become the best version of the Filipina and for me that’s something only to celebrate.”
This answer is a major factor why she emerged as the pageant’s queen.

Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray graced the stage in beaded blue dress before she handed over the crown to the 2017 Miss World Philippines winner, said in a report.
It is not Laura’s first national beauty pageant. She was first runner up in Binibinang Pilipinas 2014, the same pageant where Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurztbach was also in the Top 15.
Laura’s ability in speaking on camera was enhanced during her days as UAAP courtside reporter.
Her hosting career continues on Upfront at the UAAP and on PVL broadcasts on S+A. The beauty queen is also hosting her own travel show on the Lifestyle channel.
She is not only involve in sports as courtside reporter but she also represented the Philippines at the World Series tournament on softball when she was younger and they won second place.
Aside from this, she was also into touch rugby, according to a report of ABS CBN Sports.
Regarding her education, Laura spend her grade school up to high school in Assumption College, Beacon International School and International School of Manila.
She attended college in the US and took up Psychology, Neuro Science and Spanish Studies.
The crowned MWP 2017 used to dream of becoming a doctor, however because of her busy schedule as a host she decided not to pursue her previous plan because it will require most her time.
Laura Lehmann believes that Promoting Rural Education in the Philippines (PREP) must be her priority program as the new reigning queen.
