A resident found on Friday, August 25, 3 sachets of suspected shabu near the wake of Kian Delos Santos, the 17-year-old student who was killed in an alleged anti-drug operation in Caloocan.
According to a certain Rolando Libiran, Maynilad personnel were supposed to fix his water pipes when he found a coin purse under plant pots.
When he opened the coin purse, he discovered 3 plastic sachets with suspected shabu.
“Wala akong idea bakit nila doon inilagay iyan,” Libiran said in an interview with ABS-CBN News and other members of the press.
However, he refused to comment when asked if drug trade is rampant in their community. “Hindi ko po masasabi iyan dahil tahimik kaming mamamayan dito,” he added.
The alleged Shabu was found one block away from the house of Kian Delos Santos where his remains lie.
Kian Loyd Delos Santos was killed in a “one-time big-time operation” in Barangay 160 in Caloocan City late Wednesday, August 16.
Authorities claimed that the minor drew his firearm and “directly shot” at the police, which prodded Police Officer 3 Arnel Oares to fire back, and apparently kill the student.
Police officers tagged in his killing asserted that the Grade 11 was a drug courier to his father and relatives.
However, the operatives admitted in a Senate hearing on Thursday, August 24 that they have confirmed the connection of Kian with drug trade, the day after he was killed.
Aside from Senate, the Department of Justice, National Police Commission, and Commission on Human Rights will also conduct an investigation over the death of Kian.
