Director Erik Matti Challenges Reviewer Philbert Dy to a ‘FISTFIGHT’

Veteran director Erik Matti challenged movie reviewer Philbert Dy to a fistfight.

Earlier, Philbert Dy went to the microblogging site, Twitter wherein he expressed his dismay about the movies of Erik Matti and at the same time lauding the works of director John Paul Laxamana- who’s behind “100 Tula Para Kay Stella.”

In a screenshot of their Twitter convo as retrieved by entertainment site, FashionPulis, furious Erik Matti then fired back, challenging Philbert Dy to a fistfight.

The 47-year-old director noted that he and the latter will engage to a fistfight as soon as he lands the country from SF.

Philbert Dy is currently in San Francisco, California.

Meanwhile, a netizen joined the Twitterverse noting that Dy praised Laxamana, thus considering the latter as a supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte.

On the other hand, Erik Matti might receive such criticism for being a critic of Duterte.

In fact, boycott Darna previously trended on social media particularly on the social networking site, Facebook after Erik Matti cursed at Filipinos who voted for President Rodrigo Duterte.

Erik Matti is the director of the highly anticipated comeback of Pinay superheroine, “Darna” which will be played by Kapamilya star, Liza Soberano.

The movie adaptation of the titular comical story is slated to hit theaters this 2017.

Erik Matti is also behind the award-winning movies, “On the Job” and “Honor Thy Father,” which earned him nominations for Best Director in the Gawad Urian Awards and Film Academy of the Philippines Awards.
