Jake Zyrus has reacted on the comparison of his singing style with Charice Pempengco.
Jake Zyrus is the new screen name of Charice Pempengco after the latter come out as a trans man.
In an interview with PEP.ph, Jake Zyrus appealed to stop comparing him to his former image as Charice particularly with his singing style and vocal range.
According to Jake, “Like, yung halimbawa sinasabi nila, ‘O, di na niya kayang bumirit…’
“Hindi natin mako-compare si Charice kay Jake, iba na talaga. Wala nang magiging comparison. Kung bibirit man, hindi na birit just like before. Iba na yung range, iba na lahat.
“Hindi na nila ako puwedeng i-make fun or insultuhin to post videos right there with my new range, tapos sasabihin nila hindi ko abot.
“Hindi ko talaga yun maaabot kasi pambabae na yung mga range na yun, at di ko na kaya talaga yun.
Many have been vocal that they missed Charice Pempengco and one of which is singer-actress Angeline Quinto.
Just recently, Angeline Quinto went to social media wherein she posted several videos of her along with Charice in an amateur singing contest.
According to her, although she missed Charice, she has accepted the new image of the internationally acclaimed singer.
Jake Zyrus has made a name for himself abroad while being Charice Pempengco.
When asked if he’s open to returning to the international scene, he said he is not closing his doors.
