Movie Citizen Jake through its official Facebook page issued an open letter to the selection committee of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
On social media, the supposed MMFF entry cite reasons why they did not submit their script to the MMFF selection committee.
The Mike de Leon film was said to be the movie debut of Broadcast journalist Atom Araullo.
In the movie, Araullo plays the role of a journalist named Jake Herrera. The plot of the movie centers on the vile perception of local politics.
“Citizen Jake” was said to be starred with Luis Alandy, Gabby Eigenmann, Lou Veloso, Nonie Buencamino, Victor Neri, Alan Paule, Raquel Villavicencio, Malu de Guzman, Ruby Ruiz, Nanding Josef, Anna Luna, Richard Quan, Teroy Guzman, Max Collins, Cherie Gil and Dina Bonnevie.

Recently, MMFF made rounds online over a controversy after three members of its executive committee resigned on Friday, June 30, 2017.
Ricky Lee, Rolando Tolentino and Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala, are among the members of the executive committee of MMFF who resigned and according to them, their reason for resignation is because the rest of the execom “took a different direction, by putting too much emphasis on commerce over art.”
But they explained that their resignation as MMFF executive committee members had nothing to do with the first four entries in the movie fest which was submitted on Friday as well.
“We had expressed our intention to resign long before the announcement of the first four entries was made,” they said in a statement.
Meanwhile, here are the movies that you should watch out for this 2017 MMFF: “Ang Panday,” starring Coco Martin, “The Revengers,” starring Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla, and Pia Wurtzbach; “Almost is Not Enough” starring Jennylyn Mercado and Jericho Rosales; and “Love Traps #FamilyGoals” starring Vic Sotto and Dawn Zulueta.
The four remaining entries which will comprise the “Magic 8” will be announced in due time once the submission of entries is finished.
