Cheryl Alonzo, the mother of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has broken her silence about her late husband, Uwe Wurtzbach.
She claimed that her marriage with Pia Wurtzbach’s father was legal.
“Got married to their dad on November 11, 1983 and after 6 years we had Pia,” she said in an Instagram post.
“We worked hard for our money so no one should question about what had and wherever it went. I waited patiently to be a mom though because of that,” she added.
However, her posts have been deleted according to PEP.ph.
While she did not mention who might be questioning her family’s situation before, some relate it to the claims of Robie Asingua, the live-in partner of Uwe before he died in Puerto Princesa, Palawan in 2014.
Just recently, Pia Wurtzbach made headlines after she was slammed by Robie Asingua and Alexander Wurtzbach, Pia’s half-brother, for allegedly telling lies about her MMK lifestory.
According to Robie Asingua, she and Pia’s father never asked money from her.
Alexander Wurtzbach, on the other hand, lambasted Pia Wurtzbach for “discrediting” their late father. He even told Pia not to use his father’s surname.
The issue even caught the attention of Pia’s younger sister, Sarah Wurtzbach, who’s currently in the United Kingdom and Chief Content Officer of ABS-CBN Corporation and Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) host Charo Santos-Concio.
Meanwhile, in the later post of Cheryl Alonzo she went on saying how she loved her husband. She even cried when he passed away.
But now, she’s happy with her life along with her new husband Nigel Tyndall, whom she described as “God’s gift.”
