Sandy Andolong stands by her daughter Bb. Pilipinas-International 2017 Mariel de Leon amid bashing.
The wife of actor Christopher de Leon described the newly crowned beauty queen as “our brave and humble queen.”
Mariel de Leon made a buzz online and was bashed by some netizens over her cryptic messages against Mocha Uson, who was recently appointed as assistant secretary for social media at the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).
On Tuesday, upon the release of Mocha Uson’s appointment letter signed by President Rodrigo Duterte, she immediately went to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, to express her dismay over the latter’s appointment.
“Biased and disrespectful. She insults those who are against her. I’m not for her, I’m not for the other side (whatever that may be),” she said in a post.
“I love my country so it breaks my heart to know someone like her got a position in the govt,” she added.
But on Friday, she apologized to the dancer-turned-blogger, who’s a former board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
Meanwhile, according to an article published by PEP, Sandy Andolong posted a quote on her official Instagram account as a message of support to her daughter.
“You don’t have to spend your days hoping that other people will finally see your worth,” a part of the quote she posted said.
Aside from Mariel de Leon, Mocha Uson was heavily criticized by other celebrities including US-based Pinay actress-turned-talk show host G. Toengi and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
