Duterte Issues Statement on Mocha Uson’s Appointment

President Rodrigo Duterte issued a statement to defend dancer-blogger Mocha Uson’s appointment as the assistant secretary at the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).

In a press interview with the reporters on Wednesday, Duterte said that he’s just paying back for Mocha Uson after supporting him during the campaign period in 2016 Elections.

“Utang na loob ko yan sa kaniya because they offered their services for free,” said Duterte. “It’s my time to believe in them.”

Duterte also defended Mocha Uson from the criticisms and bashed statement that the latter receive for some claimed that she’s not qualified for the position.

Duterte stressed that her image as a sexy dancer should not prevent her from offering services to the administration.

“Iyang pagsasayaw niya hanapbuhay yan eh. That’s hanapbuhay. There’s no law that says if you expose your body you are disqualified from being president of the Philippines… Every Filipino deserves a chance,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to a statement released by Malacañang Palace officials, Mocha Uson will handle it’s social media services.

Based on an article published by ABS-CBN News, Mocha Uson’s salary will be on the Grade 27 to 29 bracket.

On social networking site, Facebook, Mocha Uson said she will “bridge the gap” between ordinary Filipinos and the government as well as fight against “fake news.”
