Karen Mae Calam of USC Releases Statement After She Topped the November 2016 Bar Exam

Karen Mae Calam of the University of San Carlos in Cebu has released a statement after she topped the November 2016 Bar Examinations.

The USC grad dominates in the 2016 Bar Exam with 89.05 percent.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Karen Mae Calam bare her “secret weapon” after topping the exam.

“When you take the exam, you just go there and give it your best shot. I really didn’t expect na top one talaga although you pray for it from God. You pray for it as early as when you start law school,” she said.

“I didn’t expect that God will give that very good and merciful and amazing — but he gave talaga that top one. That’s beyond, beyond, beyond what I prayed for from him,” she added.

Aside from prayers, she recognized the importance of hardworking.

Karen Mae Calam, who’s also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) shared that she studied for at least 6 hours every day.

A total of 3,747 examinees out of 6,344 bar-takers passed the November 2016 Bar exams.

Three graduates of the University of San Carlos also made it in the topnotchers (top 10) including Fiona Cristy Lao (3rd place), Anne Margaret Momongan (6th place) and Jefferson Gomez (7th place).
