WATCH: Tornado (Buhawi) Captured on Cam in Camarines Sur (Video)

A Bayan Patroller captured on his camera phone a tornado (buhawi) in Barangay Fabrica, in Bula, Camarines Sur.

Bayan Patroller Gerick Hallare told ABS-CBN News that he spotted the tornado (buhawi) past 2 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2017. The tornado reportedly lasts for about 10 minutes.

The incident was also confirmed by the local government unit. No casualties nor injured in the said tornado. No damage reported as of press time as well.

According to PAGASA: “Tornadoes occur when there are congestive clouds – when the warm air goes up and it becomes heavily dense, it will come down. At the same time, there’s still warm air going up so a circulation occurs.”

“It can happen anytime even if there’s no southwest monsoon, as long as congestive clouds are present. We’ve seen it happen in other areas in the country before,” weather forecaster Buddy Javier said.

“Structures made of light materials are in danger of being destroyed. Trees can be uprooted. It can happen anytime, yes, but it’s usually not destructive,” he added.
