BREAKING NEWS: 24 Confirmed Dead After Bus Falls Off Ravine in Nueva Ecija

Senior Superintendent Antonio Yarra, chief of Nueva Ecija police confirmed that at least 24 died after a bus fell off a ravine in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

Meanwhile, in an interview with GMA Network and other members of the press, Senior Inspector Robert de Guzman, officer-in-charge of Carrangalan police also affirmed the mishap noting that it happened around 11 am in Barangay Capintalan in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija.

According to the statement of De Guzman, a LeoMaric minibus, bound for Candon, Ilocos Sur from Isabela was seen speeding. It later fell into a ravine with a depth of  80- to 100-meter. The passenger bus was totally damaged.

On board the passenger bus were 60 passengers. The bus was totally damaged.

40 passengers including the injured and the dead were then brought up from the wrecked bus.

Those who accumulated minor and major injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.
