The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) announced that the series of earthquakes or earthquake swarm in Batangas is “normal.”

Solidum also clarified that Batangas fault line has nothing to do with the West Valley fault which lies along Metro Manila and is said to hit by the strongest earthquake, “The Big One.”
On the other hand, Solidum gave a reminder to the public to be watchful and vigilant just in case the earthquake strikes.
PHIVOLCS also emphasize the “drop. cover and hold” measures when there is an earthquake.
Meanwhile, more than 1,000 aftershocks pummeled Batangas.
Based upon PHIVOLCS earthquake bulletin, the latest earthquake that jolted Batangas is a magnitude 3.1 earthquake. The center of the quake is located in Agoncillo, Batangas.
