Actress Shaina Magdayao has issued a statement to clarify a misquoted interview of her rumored boyfriend Piolo Pascual on TV Patrol.
In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal, the 27-year-old actress clarified the actor’s claim that they are exclusively dating for five years already.
Here’s the full statement of Shaina Magdayao:
“Yung five years na ‘yan, nana-misquote siyasaTV Patrol, let me be very honest, kasi this is the first time that I’m gonna talk about it.
Kasi nga, parang it was blown out of proportion.
When he was interviewed, it was Valentine’s Day, and I really felt bad kasi mukhang naidamay lang kami sa hype dahil nga sa makukulit na mga tao.
I don’t know if you’re all excited na magkaroon kami ng kanya-kanyang relationship…
I remember, it was February 14 na parang episode ng TV Patrol, na sinabay kami sa mga official talagang magbo-boyfriend-girlfriend.
So, kami naman, helpless, wala na, nasa headlines na kami
I really felt bad, kasi may mga bersiyon na nag-iimbento o saan nanggagaling yung five years na yun.
But, you know, let me make it very clear, yung five years nayun, we talked about that twice in passing.
We were in Malaysia, tapos may nag-tag na parang magpa-five years na.
Sabi niya sa akin, ‘Magpa-five years na.
Sabi ko, ‘Oh, my gosh, five years na since ASAP Singapore!’ So, dunnagsimulayun.
Sabi ko, ‘Seriously, limang taon na yun, limang taon na yung nakalipas.
Sabi niya, ‘Oo, almost five years na, according to this posts and pictures.
Dun namin nakuha na parang, ‘Okay, it’s been five years that we’ve been there for each other.
Dun nagsimula yun, and ito yun, ito talaga ang conversation namin.
Sabi ko, ‘Wow, in all fairness, ha, magpa-five years na.
So, when he said that, and it was edited in a wrong way, nagmukhatuloymalisyoso; and I really felt bad.
You know, time will come na I’ll defend you, sabi ko sakanya.
Ako, I’ll clear that, akoangbahaladiyansa five years na ‘yan.
Kasi, hindinagingmaganda, kasi at the same time, sinasabinilasakanya at sa akin din na five years, it’s been five years.
I’ve been telling you nawala, na I’m single, tapos may five years.”
Kung alam lang nila kung saan nagmula yung five years na term, at kung gaano siya actually kaganda that five years na kami, na parang magpa-five years na kami, na we’re always there for each other according to that fan, to that post, tapos minamasama, nilalagyan ng malisya ng mga tao.
I felt na di magandayun, and it’s unfair for the two of us.
Pero lahat ‘yan may rason, lahat ‘yan may pinanggagalingan.
Ayoko lang nadudumihan yung foundation namin, kasi our foundation is our friendship. Ayoko na nilalagyan ng intriga.
It’s just sad kung paano siya unang pumutok, kung paano siya unang lumabas, but I hope this enlightened everyone.”
During the interview, The Better Half star has also reacted on the “gamitan issue” which surfaced online. Shaina Magdayao is referring to an article which went viral after it stated that she’s only using the actor for showbiz limelight.
However, she denied such motive.
