After winning the US Presidential race, Donald Trump pledged that he would be “president for all Americans” when he sit as the 45th president of the United States in January.

Trump won the US elections in a stunning victory that shocked the world when he took the key swing states of Florida, North Carolina and Ohio.

In his victory speech in New York City on Wednesday afternoon, Manila Time, Trump said he was reaching out to the people who had not supported him to unify the country.

“Now it’s time to bind the wounds of division. I say to Democrats and Republicans it is time come together as one united people,” he said.

“I pledge to be president for all Americans. The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer,” Trump added.

According to the business mogul, it was not a campaign but a movement that had won him the White House. It is comprised of all people of different backgrounds and beliefs.

Trump admitted that his victory had been tough, given the surveys of the early polls. He thanked his wife, his children and friends.

“This political stuff is nasty and it’s tough,” he said.

As Trump leads the electoral college votes, his opponent, Mrs Clinton did not initially concede the election.

But during his speech, Trump confirmed that Clinton called him to congratulate him on his victory.

Trump offered generous words for the former US Secretary of State. He said she had worked hard for many years and was owed a “deep debt of gratitude”.

The supporters of the president-elect attending the party was respectful when he mentioned Mrs Clinton.

In his conciliatory speech, Trump added:  “We will get along with all other nations willing to get along with us. We will deal fairly with everyone. We will seek common ground, partnership not conflict. America will no longer settle for anything less than the best. We must reclaim our destiny.”
