Vargas Looks for a KO Pacquiao in Round 8
Vargas to KO Pacquiao – WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas says that he would love to win via knockout against the Filipino boxing icon, Manny Pacquiao on their fight this coming November 5.
In a report by ABS-CBN, Vargas said that he is going for a knockout as everyone wants to see it. He added that if the opening shows up, he’s going to take it, especially in the 8th round.
“They want to see knockouts. I’m going to prove everybody wrong once again come November 5th. I’m going to show them I’m the real deal. I’m going for a knockout,” Vargas said as quoted.
“The minute that he gives me that opening I’m taking it. The 8th round sounds very, very good to me,” he added.
Even with this goal of his, Vargas admits that Pacquiao is the ‘biggest star’ he is going to fight in his current career and said that this might be his “ticket to superstardom”.
“I’m ready for the best Manny Pacquiao that will show up on that night, and it’s my time to shine,” he said.
Vargas also believes that he will not only beat Pacquaio but will also dominate the Filipino boxing icon. He also believes that he will win in ‘super fashion’ and said that he will be staying on top, also becoming a legend himself.
According to him, he is going to be faster than the speedy eight-division world boxing champion in order for him to win.
“We’re going to be faster than him. We know we can match it. We knew that before. That’s a goal of mine, to be faster than Manny Pacquiao. If he was able to reach a certain amount of speed, then I can increase it and take it to another level,” Vargas said in the report.
The November match would be Pacquiao’s comeback fight after announcing his retirement last April because, according to him, he will be focusing on his political career and to give more time for his family.
Manny Pacquiao is now a Senator in the Philippines.
