Pacquaio Continues To Train For Next Fight
Pacquaio continues to train – After having a stressful Monday at the Senate, wherein he moved to declare the chairmanship of the committee which Senator Leila De Lima is handling vacant, boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquaio went straight to the gym to train for his upcoming fight.
De Lima was the then chairperson of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights. The memberships of the said Senate Committee also moved by Pacquiao as vacant.
In a report by GMA News, the Filipino boxing hero and now Senator Pacquiao is preparing for his fight with WBO Welterweight champion Jessie Vargas on November 5.
According to the report, after the Senate hearing on alleged extrajudicial kil1ings which the whole Philippines and the world is watching, Pacquiao went straight to the boxing gym and trained for two hours.
Pacquiao said that he and his team still has six weeks to prepare and be in full condition before the fight.
“Meron pa tayong anim na linggo para sa preparasyon sa darating na laban so enough naman ‘yung time para makuha natin ‘yung 100 percent condition.”
The report added that the focus of the team, especially his conditioning coach, Justine Fortune is maintaining the speed and strength of the Filipino boxer.
“Plyometrics have proven themselves to work time and time again for every sport… We’ll just maintain his strength, … maintain his speed,” Fortune said as quoted in the report.
The training schedule of the team had to adjust for Pacquiao not to miss his Senatorial duties.
The report said that Pacquiao has been jogging in the morning, then proceeds to the boxing gym after the Senate session in the afternoon.
The former eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, already declared his retirement after his last fight with American boxer Tim Bradley last April.
He said that he will be focusing on his political career and to give more time for his family.
