Demi Lovato Apologizes On ‘Zika’ Joke

Demi explained she did not mean to laugh at a joke about Zika.

American multi-awarded singer and composer Demi Lovato deeply apologized after being mistaken to be making fun out of the spread of Zika Virus.

Demi’s video made rounds in social media where she is seen to be laughing at how her mother, Diana Hart, joked about the deadly disease.

“Everybody down in Rio gonna get the Zika virus”, cracked by her mother, followed by Demi’s chuckles on the background.

The infection is suspected of leaving thousands of babies with underdeveloped brains, particularly in South America and the Olympic host nation Brazil.

Soon after it was posted the hashtag #DemiLovatoIsOverParty was trending on Twitter, with many people upset about her mum’s comments.

Quickly after the criticisms, Demi or Demetria Devonne Lovato, explained that she did not mean to laugh at her mother’s joke and she deeply apologizes to those who might have been hurt by her actuation.

“In no way did I mean to offend anyone last night. I was laughing at how southern my mom sounded, not the issue at hand. Deepest apologies,” explained the 23-year-old Lovato.
