Donita takes her timeout to rest after her break-up with husband of 12 years.
TV host/actress Donita Rose called for a timeout from the entertainment industry after confirming that she and her husband, Eric Villarama, has broken up.
In Mo Twister’s online podcast, Donita has confirmed that her 12-year marriage with Villarama has come to a close. The 41-year-old actress said that she will use her ‘rest’ to focus on her son and also to heal her heart.
The former MTV VJ said that the worst part of the breakup is the thought of their son, Joshua Paul, growing up in a broken family.
But Donita has decided to just untie the knot with Eric when he posted an intimate picture with somebody else.
Although Donita’s budding heart is now withered, she is trying to stay strong and move-on from their failed relationship.
Eric was a childhood friend of Donita and since he was 11, he likes Donita who was two years his senior.
But apparently, Donita didn’t notice his love as they were still young. They met again in August 2001 after she migrated to Angeles City, Pampanga and Eric courted her. Being both Christians, they waited for a clear sign from God to enter a serious relationship. The wait lasted for two years.
In December 2001, Eric decided to propose to at the Golden Gate Bridge.
Rose then married Villarama in Santa Barbara, California in 2003. They have a son named Joshua Paul Villarama, born in 2004. In the summer of 2007, they moved to Manila.
Donita and Eric almost called it quits years after they got married. They almost signed divorce papers. They always have miscommunications, especially with the distance between them.
They want to end their relationship but they thought of their one and only son. They decided to settle everything and humble themselves.
But now, reconciliation is a bit impossible because Donita is decided to just move on and let life take its course.
