Director Brillante Mendoza Wants To Make A Film On Duterte’s Young Life

The award-winning independent film director Brillante Mendoza has been looking for the possibility for him to make a film on the young President Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte’s life as he grew in Davao City.

In a report by Manila Bulletin, he told reporters that if he will be given the chance to make a film about the current President, he would like to make about Digong’s young life.

He wanted to focus on the young Digong’s life as he wanted people to see his childhood days and how he was raised to become the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines.

“I would love to do a movie about the childhood days of the President, how he was raised to become the country’s president by his parents,” Mendoza said as quoted.

But, the indie film director also thinks that Duterte might not like to do a film about his younger life.

Duterte was born on March 28, 1945 in Maasin,Southern Leyte. He is the son of the Davao governor Vicente Duterte, and Soledad “Soleng” Roa, a teacher.

The director also directed the first State of the Nation Address of President Duterte which gained various comments from the netizens and from critics regarding camera angles and other things. Filmmakers and other personalities have agreed that the angles seems to not fit the occasion though respect the award-winning director.

Brillante Mendoza was the director behind internationally recognized award-winning bodies like the Cannes. He directed films like Thy Womb and Ma’Rosa.
