Road Rage Suspect On His Villains’ Welcome: Huwag Niyo Akong Tularan

Manila, Philippines – Suspect in Quiapo road rage, Vhon Matin Tanto surrendered peacefully and did not resist during the arrest according to Brig. Gen Restituto Padillla, spokesman of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). The manhunt ended with the arrest conducted by the Army intelligence agents in Milagros, Masbate around 11 o’clock in the morning yesterday.

According to the exclsive interview of ABS-CBN with the suspect, it is not his intention to slay the guy, he said “wala po akong intension. Nandilim lang ang paningin ko.” He claim that it was because of the arrogance of the victim that made him out rage.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald dela Rosa made a promise to give Tanto a “villain’s welcome” and said that he might offer a boxing lesson to the suspect that was beaten by his victim during their fist fight. Tanto, an Army reservist was captured in Milagros, Masbate in the hometown of his wife, Aniza.

The fight between the suspect and the victim was caused by a traffic altercation on P. Casal Street, Quiapo, Manila. Col. Edgard Arevalo, Public Affairs Office (PAO) chief said that since the suspect was identified to be an army reservist, he dragged not only the name and reputation of the AFP but also of those of the Reservist Forces in the Army, Air Force, and the Navy.

Major Virgilio Perez said that it was Tanto’s wife who asked to help the arrangement of her husband’s surrender to the Philippine Army Intelligence Service Unit (PAISU). A friend of her husband and a fellow reservist facilitated the arrangement for Tanto to surrender.

Tanto has a rank of private in   the reserve corps and is assigned with the 1301st Community Defense Center National Capital Region Regional Community Defense Group of the Amy Reserve Command based in Calloocan, and was migrated to Manila to engage in buy-and-sell business.

The incident was recorded on closed-circuit television (CCTV). And an 18-year-old student was accidentally hit by a stray cartridge and was taken to the hospital and now is out of danger. Dr. Domingo Reyes said that the slug the had penetrated to the lower back of Bondoc and damage her kidney was successfully removed.
