One of the country’s most prominent classical singer and “Asia’s Got Talent” finalist Gerphil Flores announced on social media that she graduated from the prestigious University of the Philippines UP with a “Cum Laude” honor.
The renowned classical singer in Asia, Gerphil Flores has finished two degrees at the University of the Philippines. She now holds a diploma in Creative Performing Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.
As a Bachelor’s Degree in Music she received the distinction of “Cum Laude” one of the highest honors in any Bachelor’s degree program in various colleges and universities across the Philippines.
On he official Facebook Page of Gerphil Flores, she wrote “Lord, thank you! I can finally harvest what I’ve planted since 2010,” she wrote.
Flores admitted that her six years in college “wasn’t always a smooth ride,” but she still feels “truly blessed with all the experiences I had as an undergraduate student including my Asia’s Got Talent stint.”
The classical singer who wowed one of the world’s most prominent music icon David Foster during her stint on Asia’s Got Talent, went on to thank her family, mentors and friends. “This triumph is not mine but yours!” she wrote.
Before the announcement of Flores graduation, she announced on her Instagram that she earned a general weighted average of 1.468 from the UP College of Music, making her a “College Scholar.” In UP, a College Scholar is equivalent to a Dean’s Lister.
