In education “age doesn’t matter” and anyone who wants to study, nobody can stop them. This is what happened to a certain Jay Calivoso whose story became an inspirations among many Filipinos who wanted to pursue their dreams of gaining knowledge through formal education.
The story of the 40-year-old Jay Calivoso, as a Grade One Pupil in Amarosa Elementary School in Laoag City became an inspirations among many Filipinos. His story was even featured in one of the country’s leading news media company, ABS-CBN.
According to Jay during an interview with ABS-CBN, he stopped going to school during his younger years because of his poor health, he is a polio victim since his younger days. He admitted that during his younger years and earlier days in school he was too embarrased because of all the teasing.
Right now he wanted to prove something and he will do everything to fight for his education because it is really important not only for him but for all Filipinos.
The stoy of Jay Calivoso inspired so many kids in his province as he told some of them that over the years of non-schooling he realized how crucial it is to gain proper education. He worked as a vegetable seller in Laoag City, because he was uneducated some people have taken advantage of him for they found out that he has difficulty in counting.
The oldest Grade One pupil from Laoag City promised this time that he will do his best to learn, as he attends cl(–foul word(s) removed–) everyday and he was also thankful for his cousin who lent a bicycle to him as he promised to worked hard for his education. He is indeed determined to finish his studies this time. Some of the family members of Jay were so glad because of his determination and dedication towards educations and even his school principal admitted that Jay Calivoso is an inspirations to their community in Laoag City.
