‘Australia’s Best Wedding’
The deputy mayor of a suburb in Australia recently kicked off a wedding ceremony that cost about 50 million dollars calling it ‘Australia’s Best Wedding.’
Salim Mehajer, deputy mayor of Auburn in the west of Sydney, recently had a celebrity-style wedding on Saturday will the lavish and sparkles.
According to a report in Dailymail, the groom told the media while wearing a white tuxedo, ‘this is how you do a wedding’.
As part of the lavish wedding ceremony, Mehajer had grand helicopter entrance then followed by a motorcade of luxury cars. But, still criticized for planning the said wedding without consulting the local police regarding the traffic congestion.
Though others have been entertained with the whole wedding like when the groom walked in a red carpet while being accompanied by a camera crew together with an entourage, others are just not impressed.
The councilor of Auburn named Irene Simms told the reports that there is already a permission to land the helicopter in the council park, but, there are still many complaints regarding the occasion.
According to a report by Fairfax, the wedding organizers already distributed letters in each resident mailboxes a day before the wedding. According to the reports, the letters asked the residents to park their cars on their property for the streets to be cleared. There is also a warning that those who did not comply will have their cars to be towed and removed by police.
But, according to the Auburn Police duty officer Chris Laird on Sydney Morning Herald that the local police department didn’t know about the event.
The whole wedding event featured street performers beating on large drums, stretch limousines, a private jet, prestigious motorbikes and a series of luxury cars including Lamborghinis and Ferraris and are part of motorcade costing $50 million.
