The world’s most powerful international organization, the United Nations (UN) used a “wrong premise” in condemning the incoming President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte for inciting violence with his recent comments about tolerating media killings and the summary execution of criminals according to Atty. Panelo.
According to Atty. Sal Panelo the incoming President Duterte never issued a statement justifying the killing of journalists. Atty Panelo claimed instead that Mayor Rody Duterte condemns violence against members of media and will prosecute anyone who violates the law. He was quoted as saying ““He condemns all killings, harming of journalists regardless who these personalities are, whether or not they are for or against any administration,” Panelo said.
The veteran lawyer Atty. Panelo also claimed that that the Manila journalists misinterpreted Mayor Rody Duterte’s statement during the press conference. Aside from the various news media companies based in Manila attacking the mayor for his alleged pronouncements against journalist, the UN rights experts also urged the Presidetn to stop instigating deadly violence, especially against journalists.
The United Nationsl also slammed his comments against journalist which according to UN is dangerously irresponsible. UN expert on summary executions Christof Heyns described recent remarks by Duterte as “irresponsible in the extreme, and unbecoming of any leader.”
During the recenty concluded victory party of Mayor Duterte at the Crocodile Park, the national media once again reported that the mayor urged the public to join his ruthless anti-crime campaign, offering people huge bounties for killing dr** dealers.
