Warriors vs. Cavs

Based upon the official statistics of the NBA, of the previous 31 teams who competed in the NBA finals that leads the title series 2-0, 28 of the teams went on to win the much-coveted NBA Finals title. During the Game 2 of the Finals, aside from Draymond Green, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry added with 18 points for his team that seeks to win a back-to-back NBA title.

For the Cleveland side, LeBron James scored with 19 points but his efforts was not enough to cary his team and made a personal records of having defeated in seven consecutive games to the Warriors. The Cavaliers also lost Kevin Love in the third quarter of Game 2 due to concussion and his Game 3 appearance is still in doubt according to the Cavs management.

The 33-point win by the Warriors against the Cavaliers is the team’s most lopsided ever in a Finals game and they are now two wins away from back-to-back championships of the NBA. The Warriors is now the first team to go ahead 2-0 in the finals series since the Losa Angeles Lakers in 2009 against the Orland Magic.

Klay Thompson got hot after halftime to finish with 17 points and five assists which is considered as an improvement from Game 1 wherein Curry and Thompson combined for just 20 points on their 104-89 victory. The Warriors now have 87 victories this season — 73 in the regular season and 14 in the playoffs — to match the record set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.
