The lawmaker from Ilocos Norte and Vice Presidential candidate Sen. Bongbong marcos threatended legal action against his opponent, Rep. Leni Robredo who was already declared by the National Board of Canvassers as the new Vice President of the Philippines to reverse his narrow defeat in the recently concluded national election.
According to some political analysts the supposed victory of Sen. Bongbong Marcos in the Vice Presidential race as the running-mate of Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago had been his family’s best chance to regain the presidency.
The controversial victory of Rep. Leni Robredo against Sen. Bongbong Marcos is marred by controvesy unlike the victory of the Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte against his rival in the Presidential race as he was clearly given a huge mandate through his overwhelming win against his rival despite the fact that he was campaigning at the expense of volunteerism.
Sen. Bongbong Marcos on his part insisted on Saturday that he was potentially deprived of nearly four million votes through cheating and malfunctioning vote-counting machines, and was gathering evidence for a potential “election protest”.
Based upon the Sen. Marcos lawyer’s statement, the search for Senator Marcos’ missing votes did not end with the canvassing as they are now preparing for a legal action. Any legal action would be made only after Rep. Leni Robredo is proclaimed official winner of the Vice Presidential race.
Some analysts also revealed that the Vice Presidential run of Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos is an indication for a greater pursuit as the Marcos family aimed for a higher office particularly the presidency and a possible return to Malacanang to regain the public’s trust and to defend himself against the alleged bias administration of the Aquino family who even failed to bring justice to Ninoy’s Aquino death despite the presence of two Aquino administration in Malacanang.
