Honest tricycle driver returned a wallet to his passenger containing P40,000.
A tricycle driver from Silay City, Negros Occidental is making rounds online, garnering the admiration of netizens after he returned a pouch to his passenger which contains P40,000.
While on his way to Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, 50-year-old tricycle driver named Jerry P. Daquiado found a wallet on his vehicle and when he opened it, the pouch holds forty thousand pesos in cash.
He then headed to the hospital where he usually stops. While looking over for passengers who might lost the wallet, he spotted a lady, crying.
Daquiado approach the crying lady and talked to her. As their conversation goes by, he found out that the lady he’s talking with is the one who lost her wallet which contains P40,000 in cash. He even had a argument with the lady as he confirm if she’s really the owner of the item.
While he talks with the lady, he was able to learn that the money he found will be used for the operation the lady’s father. She told him that he wasn’t able to notify the vehicle she boarded that time because she panicked after losing the money for her father.
As soon as the lady left the scene, other drivers told him why he returned the money since it’s a great quantity but he disclosed to them that despite of poor, they should look at other people’s situation.
Ikkin Daquiado, the daughter of Jerry is the one who first shared this news on social media via a Facebook post and according to her, she’s proud of her father who has been working as a tricycle driver for 20 years already.
She told Philnews.ph exclusively that aside from the P40,000, her father previously found a whopping P100,000 in his vehicle and he also returned it to the owner who is a Chinese national.
