PTC Eyes Transition Reports Finish by the End of May

The Presidential Transition Committee (PTC) of the Aquino Administration is eyeing to submit and consolidate the transition reports of all departments, agencies and bureaus under the executive branch by the end of May, a Palace official said on Friday. According to Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma, the target date will give the incoming administration ample time to review these reports before assumption into office of Mayor Duterte.

According to Malacanang Palace through Sec. Coloma, and Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., the PTC is prepared to work and meet with the transition team of incoming President Rodrigo Duterte.

“As directed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., the most senior career official will be designated as Agency Focal Person for the whole duration of the transition process leading to the inauguration of the incoming President on (June 30),” Coloma said.

Mayor Duterte’s camp already announced the members of their transition committee which were composed of the campaign team of the Davao City mayor. The Duterte Transition Committee were headed by Maribojoc Mayor Leoncio Evasco who is tasked for social development concerns, Mayor Duterte’s executive assistant Bong Go for Peace and Security, Businessman Carlos Dominguez III for economic development, Atty. Salvador Medialdea for the Judiciary, Loreto Ata for GOCC’s and Peter Laviña for infrastructure development.

The Transition Team of the presumptive president Mayor Duterte also revealed that their camp already received some names of nominees and suggestions of the potential members of the Duterte Cabinet. The Davao City Mayor is also eyeing to compose a Cabinet team patterned after the lineup of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who made headlines worldwide as it represents almost all sectors.
