One of the country’s most popular love team, KathNiel or the Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla love team draws flak online after they posted selfies holding the official ballots during the highly anticipated 2016 national elections in their respective polling precincts.
The Filipino public particularly the non-supporters of Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo criticized KathNiel for showing their ballots in public which is not allowed according to the Comelec’s rules and regulations.
According to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) voters are not allowed to show their ballot in public even if the ballot is not yet shaded. During election day, supporters of every candidates are not allowed to wear any campaign material.
Despite the warnings and possible violations of the Comelec rules, the Teen Queen, Kathryn Bernardo still wear on of the campaign material of Mar Roxas, a baller which was clearly seen on numerous photos posted by the fans of the artist on social media.
The KathNiel love team confirmed to the media earlier that they will campaign for Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo and even joined the Liberal Party on their numerous sorties conducted in different parts of the Philippines.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) already made a statement regarding the issue as they defended the two celebrities that they did not violate any rules of the national poll body because the photos were not taken by KathNiel themselves.
