Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT5) “Golden buzzer” act Power Duo and hugot magician Ody Sto. Domingo enters the finals of PGT featuring the Top 12 acts in the fifth season of the country’s most popular talent search on national TV. Power Duo and Sto. Domingo will be joining Next Option, Crossover Family, Sto. Tomas Bulilit Generation, Mastermind, Amazing Pyra and UA Mindanao in the grand finals.
Right after the Sunday’s edition of PGT, Power Duo composed of Anjanette and Gervin automatically got a slot in the grand finals after receiving 57.38 percnt of the viewer’s votes. The dance duo, “Power Duo” impressed the judges of the show and the live studio audience with their impressive performance of “Wag Ka Nag Umikya,” the theme song of the hit primetime TV series “Ang Probinsyano.”
The performance of Power Duo earned a standing ovation from all judges of the competition, former ABS-CBN president Freddie Garcia, action star Robin Padilla, actress Angel Locsin, and comedian Vice Ganda.
For Ody Sto. Domingo’s part, the “hugot” magician, became the eighth grand finalists after receiving 30.41 percent of the viewer’s votes and received the vote of judges Vice Ganda and Angel Locsin.
During the performance of Domingo, he wowed the judges with his unique brand of magic using “hugot” lines to get their attention. In getting the judges attention, Robin Padilla noted that “Masyado mo akong pinabilib doon. Mag-ingat ka na lang kasi baka hanapin ka ng ibang tao kung ba’t nagagawa mo ‘to. Masyado kang magaling, iho, masyado kang magaling,” Padilla said.
“Ang galing, ang galing ng ipinakita mo. Hanggang ngayon iniisip ko pa rin kung paano mo ito nabuo,” Locsin added.
Aside from the two winning semi-finalists, the other performance last weekend includes DM-X Comvaleños, who received the votes of Robin Padilla and Freddie Garcia. However, they only received 7.76 percent of viewers votes.
