Duterte Finally Admits BPI Account After Denying It

In a report in Inquirer, Duterte said that he has two accounts on the said bank which have P17,500 and P50,000 only.

This is in contrary to the claims of vice presidential candidate Senator Antonio Trillanes that the there was a BPI account that has about P211 million which is not declared on his statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN).

The top presidential candidate even dared Trillanes to execute an affidavit saying where and how did the Senator got the bank records of the ‘alleged’ millions in the bank accounts.

Duterte even said to the media that he challenges Trillanes to file a case against him

“Sabi ko that is fabricated. Meron ako, I’ll give you one account (with) 17 thousand.” [I already said that it’s fabricated. I have one, I’ll give you one account which has P17,000] he said.

In the interview, Rody Duterte said that the amount in the bank account was big before but, he already spent it. He then said that he has a bank account but doesn’t contain a million.

After admitting, Duterte said that he won’t be allowing a waiver to be signed.

“You make it (the challenge) properly. I will not play into your hands. Who is he to demand a waiver?” he said.

Meanwhile, in recent reports, Peter Laviña, the spokesperson of Duterte said that the Mayor’s bank account in BPI doesn’t not exist.
