Real Full-Scale Noah’s Ark Made By Carpenter In The Netherlands

Johan Huibers, 48, a carpenter, created a full-scale, three-storey replica of the Noah’s Ark as what in the Bible has said to be built by Noah before.

Huiberts, according to a report in Daily Mail, has already spent £1million in order to rebuild the Ark. Now, the Noah’s Ark is attracting thousands per day, approximately, 3,000 tourists a day.

Now, the gigantic wooden boat was in Dordrecht, Netherlands.

Not like the original Ark before, this replica has two cinemas and a restaurant as well. Also, it features life-sized plastic animals inside.

According to the article, Huibers said that the reason why he did this project is because he saw a dream part of his country, the Netherlands, will be flooded just like what was written in the Book of Genesis.

In 2004, he already built a half-size replica of the Noah’s Ark referring to the specifications from the Bible. Then, it was flocked by tourists wherein he used the proceeds to build the full version of it. It took them three years to accomplish.

According to Today News, God has commanded Noah to build a boat that measures 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high to prepare for the flood.

But, Johan built his version by following the measurement that  a cubit stretches at about a length of a man’s forearm.

These are his measurements:

  • 450 feet: Length of the boat
  • 3 stories: Height of the boat
  • 75 feet: Width of the boat
  • 1,500: Number of people the ark can hold
  • 14,000: Number of trees it took to build the ark
  • $11,000: Cost of one life-size plastic elephant replica on the ark
  • 3,000: Number of tourists who visit it per day on average

Now, as the Ark of Noah was completed, it became a multi-floor interactive exhibit wherein it is focused in spreading the teachings from the Christian Bible.

Tourists will be experiencing Bible-based stories and exhibitions.
