Rep. Leni Robredo of Camarines Sur, the running mate of Liberal Party’s standard-bearer Mar Roxas is now leading in the latest Social Weather Station (SWS) vice presidential survey with 26 percent of voters preferred Leni Robredo as their vice president. Rep. Robredo is in virtual tie with former survey front-runner Sen. Bongbong Marcos whose voter preference ratings slipped from 26 percent to 25 percent.
The SWS Survey was conducted in partnership with one of the country’s leading news agency, BusinessWorld which reported that the latest survey showed “the race for the vice presidency has become close.” According to SWS the vice presidential survey was conducted on April 18-20 through face-to-face method.
The latest SWS nationwide survey for Vice President was conducted with a total of 1,800 validated voters from different parts of the country, with a sampling margin of error of plus or minus two points.
Aside from Rep. Leni Robredo and Sen. Bongbong Marcos who are statistically tied at the No. 1 spot, Sen. Chiz Escudero, the former survey front-runner fell further from 28 percent in March to 21 percent in the March 30-April 2 survey and 18 percent in the April 2016 poll by SWS.
The other vice presidential candidate who surge in the latest survey for the second highest position of the country, Sen. Alan Alan Peter Cayetano, the running-mate of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte increased his survey ratings in which he had a voter preference of 16 percent, up from 13 percent compared to the previous survey.
Independent Vice Presidential candidate, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and the running mate of VP Binay, Sen. Gringo Honasan got the lowest number of ratings with 5 percent and 2 percent respectively.
