The leading presidential candidate in the Philippines today, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City made a response to the controversial video posted by his opponent on social media, particularly the call of his presidential rival Vice President Jejomar Binay not to vote for the Davao City mayor in the upcoming 2016 national elections.

VP Binay made headlines earlier after he urge his supporters and the Filipino people not to vote for Mayor Duterte due to allegations which was not proven in any court of law of the mayor’s involvement in various human rights violations and extrajudicial killings.
In an interview with the media, Mayor Duterte told reporters in a campaign rally that “Mamili kayo, killer ng kriminal o yung magnanakaw sa kaban (ng bayan) pati yung asawa, yung anak?” Duterte told reporters.
The Vice President stated in an interview with a radio station that Filipinos had a “moral obligation” not to vote for Mayor Duterte. VP Binay also issued a similar remarks in a video posted on his official Facebook account as he convinced Filipino voters not to elect Mayor Duterte into the highest post in the Philippines.
Mayor Duterte on his part made a statement against VP Binay and hits back VP Binay by stating: “Kayo ’wag kayong bumoto kay Binay kasi mauubos ang kwarta. Ako kung magpatay ako ng kriminal, ang masasaktan yung kriminal lang, pero kung si Binay na presidente ang masakatan yung bulsa niyo,” he said.
