The winner of the non-title fight between boxing superstars Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley will bring home what it calls a “legacy belt,” which will be on the line for Saturday’s (Sunday Manila Time) fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The belt will to be given to the winner of the non-title fight according to the World Boxing Organization.
According to WBO President Franciso Varcarcel said that the belt is studded with at least 60 12-carat diamonds. The trinket features the words “Battle of Super Champions” in the center, just below the logo of the Puerto Rico-based sanctioning organization.
The Filipino boxing pride and world’s only eight division world champion, Manny Pacquiao posed with his antagonist Timothy Bradley, while holding the belt during the final press conference at the David Copperfield Theatre inside the MGM Grand. The WBO officer also stated that the Pacquiao vs. Bradley fight will feature “two remarkable fighters and worthy ambassadors to the WBO.”
Former WBO Welterweight champion Timothy Bradley is also a worthy opponent of Manny Pacquiao according to some analyst. The 32-year-old American fighter vacated his WBO title in February for the chance to face Manny Pacquiao for the third time on his career as a boxing superstar.
“I gave up my title for this bout because obviously, you know, first thing’s first: it (Pacquiao rubber match) is more lucrative,” Bradley said after an open workout at last week in Indio, California.
